We work closely with our network of small-scale farmers in Tanzania to ensure that cardamom is cultivated with Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and are fully traceable, from harvest to delivery.
Each cardamom plantation contributes to afforestation and is harvested with traditional, sustainable methods only.

Cardamom’s Nature
Cardamom is a spice which comes from the seed pod of plants in the ginger family. VT-AGRO-COMMODITIES-LTD offers green cardamom (Elettaria cardamomom), which is considered true cardamom. This is the more common variety, grown in tropical areas such as India, Malysia, Costa Rica, and Tanzania where peak season is during the rainy period of March to April and October to November. As one of the highest valued spices in the world, cardamom is referred to as “Queen of Spices”.
Uses of Cardamom
In culinary, cardamom is used in both sweet and savoury dishes, offering a peppery, citrusy, sweet taste with a bittersweet aroma. It also provides multiple health benefits, such as treating digestive problems, nausea, and heartburn, and is a good antioxidant with plenty of vitamins.
